Intervention Services
Intervention services are provided to students with disabilities who require specially designed instruction and/or related services to make educational progress and access the general education curriculum.
Recognizing that individual differences exist among children, Salida Montessori Charter School offers students speech/language therapy, physical therapy, psychological assessment, and more. These services are designed to help each student fulfill their individual potential. Instruction occurs primarily in an inclusive general education setting, which balances the best of Montessori methodology with an increased focus on direct instruction.
If a child is in need of Intervention Services, an appropriate combination of classroom instruction and specialized assistance is developed via a Multi-Tiered System of Support. The goal of such help is always to enable a child to progress to the upper limits of his/her ability in the least restrictive environment.
Salida Montessori Charter School welcomes all students and strives to create and maintain a diverse student population. SMCS is dedicated to the principles of equal opportunity and prevention of harassment in all of its practices. The educational programs, activities, and employment opportunities offered by SMCS are offered without regard to disability, race, creed, color, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, national origin, language, religion, ancestry, need for special education services, or any other protected class.
